Noatikl 1.5.0.15

Postby impete » Sun Jan 25, 2009 9:28 pm

We have updated Noatikl to version 1.5.0.15

Changes:

- Added two new menu items, that are both visible from any voice view:
Edit -> Merge-In Template
Edit -> Merge-In File
These allow you to select either a Noatikl template, or another Noatikl file in your file system, that you want to merge-in to your current piece. Noatikl merges the selected content into your current Noatikl piece, pulling-in any new rules it might need, and copying in all voices from the selected content. Use these two new menu items to easily merge your pieces together creating new hybrids, or to easily merge-in templates into your compositions!

Ah, a very helpful addition, thanks :)

It remains that I use Noatikl EVERY SINGLE DAY! (and Liptikl every other) for something, it has become an essential component of my personal artistic procedure so though my forum presence has waned (for now) the creative application remains vital and current :)

Hi Chris,

I am truly pleased to hear that you continue to find Noatikl and Liptikl to be essential parts of your creative armoury. :)

Now that Mixtikl is bedded down for the first release, we're starting to focus again on Noatikl in a push to get towards Noatikl 2 at some point this year! Should be a fun journey... :)

Sounds like the download didn't complete. Check the listed size and download again?

Err... that is weird; the install doesn't delete anything! It installs the default template .zip file, and the software; but that should be it.

Where were your templates...?

In the 'Standard Templates' archive lol!

No problem, seems like that was the way it was noted to add your own (via the 'Standard' archive) but perhaps I misunderstood? Can you verify procedure on Mac to have Noatikl read custom templates properly? as it seems I had problems doing it any other way originally (to see them in the 'New' file document dialog along with the 'Generative' and 'Standard).

Of course I have a back-up, just not with me where I am at this week.

Sorry to hear that, Chris!

The simplest thing to do is simply to zip-up your files, and put them in a uniquely named zip called e.g. "Loopy C's templates - hands off.zip" :) ... and put that zip in the same folder.

With best wishes,

Pete

Thanks Pete, again no real problem.

I was more concerned for others but it looks like it was just my own method/mistake though I appreciate the clarification for myself and others about any possibility ambiguity here (again maybe was just me alone 'in the fog' once again :))

Hi Earthmuse

Just a quick note to let you know that I think the email address you have set for the forum does not work. The reason for mentioning it is that a couple of members have PMed you about a couple of things, and I am getting a bounce message from your email (you must be set up to receive emails notification of pings).

Anyhow, hope that helps! I would have emailed you, but the email would have bounced :).

Hey guys, got a problem concerning 'Merge In File'

I am trying to rebuild my scales 'master' from different saved files. I used merge once and it added in the scales in that file...then I tried to get the rest and it won't bring them in? It brings in the voices but not the scales. Is there a limit to how many scales will merge because I did have all the scales in one file/template before and only problem was the ability to see/scroll to them all as has been note elsewhere.

Current files #scales number is 31, additional # needed to be added but failing is 43.

EDIT: It does seem to be some limit on number of scales merge will do as trying different ways gets different results but with a definite upwards limit stopping completion of a complete merge.
