Hi,

Well, there is always a chance that something got broken in the release! What are your symptoms; is the file there, but refusing to load? Which sequencer are you having problems with?

Best wishes,

Pete

when i unzip the folder, there is no win vst file there. i get the free-standing app, and also the noatikl_DXi_MFX_MIDI_Effect_win.dll. i'm working in cubase SX, and when i open it up i get the prompt that this release is available and not yet installed.

I believe that the Noatikl installer puts the Win VST in "C:\program files\vstplugins\" by default. I have to move mine after every install to my own VST folder located elsewhere.

Maybe the installer could be updated to find the computers default VST folder or at least prompt for the VST folder location.

found it . . . yep, that might be a good idea, at least for those of us who, in our dotage, don't have the presence pf mind to recollect that little tidbit . . .

Hi folks,

The problem is that there isn't one standard folder where to install the files on Windows (unlike on Mac, where everybody puts them in one area...) :(

Your suggestion about searching is a good one, but the installer system we use isn't scriptable, so I think we're stuck really with our current approach!

It'd be really interested to know which sequencers do, and don't, look in our target folder automatically; some do, some don't, but I *think* we're putting the Noatikl plug-in where *most* (but not all!) plug-in manufacturers install their VSTs...

Best wishes,

Pete

Pete,

Many hosts allow for choosing multiple VST plugin folders (the ones I use, Sonar & Reaper do, Bidule does not). It should be a one time setup for most users. I do not mind moving the VST at all. The Noatikl User Guide tells where the VSTi is installed. I just need to remember after every update to Noatikl (old age :) ).

Thanks,

cubase sx is the same, allowing for multiple folders. i don't mind either . . . it is just remembering at the point when updates become available. resistance to reading the manual can be an issue as well . . .
