Noatikl 1.5.1.2

Postby impete » Sun Feb 07, 2010 9:43 pm

We have updated Noatikl to version 1.5.1.2

Changes:
- Re-introduced Noatikl "reset all column widths" menu item, that had gone missing from the menu...
- Improved random number generator within the music engine
- Miscellaneous performance improvements and stability fixes to match the Noatikl engine embedded in Mixtikl

YourPete ..

Your download link indicates NOATIKL ver 1.5.0.23 (26 Aug, 2009 ) ????? hmmm ... - not ver 1.5.1.2

Seems the new Random number generator is working well. . .

"Improved random number generator within the music engine"

Must have missed this discussion, what exactly does this affect?

Hi Chris,

Well, this means that any decisions Noatikl better reflect the generative rules you've got defined; more specifically, any selection made by the engine is better distributed when there is a very restricted range of choices available.

The random number function in the scripting engine now works as expected - i.e. randomly even for values in a very small range. :-D

Hoping that makes sense to you!

Best wishes,

Pete

No problem Chris - hope you enjoy the updates!

Incidentally, as Mixtikl is keeping us so busy right now, we're planning at the moment to keep on updating Mixtikl 1.5 incrementally, rather than bringing-out a Noatikl 2 in the immediate future. Mixtikl should hopefully have a cut-down Noatikl editor in there at some point, which should be interesting!

Looks like the first biggish feature to add next to Noatikl could well be the option to define piece durations in terms of bars, which I think is something you'd asked for a while back!

BTW, have you tried Mixtikl for iPod/iTouch yet?

Best wishes,

Pete

Hi Chris,

Sent you the old version as noted via email!

If anybody else out there is relying on Noatikl 1.5 running on PPC Macs, can you please let us know!

Best wishes,

Pete
