Alternative Virtual Midi Driver for XP/Vista

Postby drleper » Tue Jan 29, 2008 12:45 am

According to the home page of MIDI Yoke it is beta software on NT/XP, may be unstable and is not supported (I have never tried it myself though, because of that message). An alternative is LoopBe1, which is a free (for non-commercial use) virtual MIDI driver for 2000/XP/Vista. It only allows one routing connection though, as opposed to MIDI Yoke which can do 8. The LoopBe guys also do a commercial version which can take 30 connections.

Here is one more:

Maple Virtual Midi Cable. It's freeware.

I used this a few years ago and don't recall any problems. Though I'm not currently using it...

The default has 4 in/outs but can be patched up to 12 in/outs.

Ken
