Mixtikl 5.3.5
Re: Mixtikl 5.3.5
Help - every time Mixtikl releases a new version it updates automatically and I lose a working copy of my desktop version for OS X. I have an older laptop that I run it on (as well as new machines) - and I have lost my older working copy and the new versions will no longer run on my machine needing OS X 10.7 or greater. I am on a MacBook Pro 1.1 Intel Core Duo, 2.16 Ghz that will only allow me to run OS 10.6.8 (max). Is there a way to block any Mixtikl updates if you have an older machine that cannot run the new 64 bit versions?
I think there should be a place online that lets paying users download their older versions so we don't have to lose our great program. I love this program but I hate the fact that I lose it each subsequent update and cannot get back my earlier happy version that actually runs on my machine.
Thanks,
Rick

Re: Mixtikl 5.3.5
Hi Rick!
Which version of Mixtikl are you using - Standalone from the Mac App Store, or plug-in from the Intermorphic store?
If your version comes from the Mac App Store, then then AFAIK it shouldn't update "automatically", that would be a manual step you'd need to follow from the Software update process on your Mac - and yes, with your older machine, you wouldn't want to update to the newer version (and it would be annoying if the Mac App Store were trying to update you to a version that didn't run on your Mac...)
For the plug-in version, this will not update automatically - though it will advise you if there is a new version available that you can install as an optional manual step. To disable that version check, you could close your DAW software, try to edit this file, and add the "checkforupdateatstart" line... and then restart the DAW with the Mixtikl plug-in...:
~/Library/Application Support/mixtiklplugin/mixtiklplugin.dat
We don't keep copies of the old pre-Mac App Store Mac standalone version online (as we transitioned to the Mac App Store a long time back) - that is to help minimise some of the terrible piracy problems we've suffered from over the years.
Do please let me know how you get on,
Best wishes,
Pete
